In this book Cronin has a weakness towards tell don’t show, rather than letting characters emerge through their dialogue or actions and his use of Manson’s wife – really potentially an interesting figure in her own right – is wasteful. Cronin is my all-time favorite author, and I have read, and own, all his books.
